HP in your business: how we integrate it

With HP we supply workstations, notebooks and business printers to the companies we support: certified hardware, with warranty and support managed directly by TN Solutions — not just the sale of a product.

We size HP hardware around the company's real workloads, from operational rental for the periodic refresh of PCs to server configuration for technical departments.

The HP hardware we actually deploy

With HP we supply three product lines we genuinely install and support in business settings: EliteBook and ProBook notebooks for people who work away from the office, EliteDesk and ProDesk desktops for fixed workstations, and Z series workstations for CAD, rendering or heavy data processing. Alongside these we manage HP LaserJet and OfficeJet printers, often under a managed print arrangement with toner and support included in the contract. We don't just sell the hardware: every machine leaves our lab in Melzo already configured with your company image, joined to the domain or Entra ID, with antivirus active.

Sizing starts from the actual workload, not the price list. An admin office needs little more than a ProDesk or ProBook with an SSD and 16GB of RAM, while a technical team running CAD or modelling software needs a ZBook or Z2 workstation with a dedicated graphics card and ISV certification. For printing, we look at monthly page volume and the number of departments involved before recommending either a single LaserJet or a managed fleet with centralised page counting, avoiding both under-sizing and buying machines that outstrip the real workload.

When HP is the right call, and when it isn't

HP is the option we recommend most often for the notebook and desktop fleet of an SME with a regular refresh cycle, for offices replacing ten or twenty workstations every three or four years without disrupting work, and for technical teams that need a certified CAD or graphics workstation without paying for an extreme configuration. It's also the right call when printing is a cost the business finally wants to track, with automatic page counting and toner replacement.

It isn't always the right call. For server infrastructure with dense storage, high redundancy or heavy virtualisation workloads, we discuss other brands in our portfolio with the client, Dell in particular for servers. For workstations with extreme graphics requirements, multi-GPU setups or continuous professional rendering, the configuration needs a case-by-case conversation before we propose a specific Z model. We say this openly during the analysis phase, because hardware choice should follow the actual workload, not the brand.

How we run an HP project

An HP project starts with an assessment of your existing fleet: how many devices need replacing, what software has to run on them, and which departments have different requirements. From there we build a sizing proposal for notebooks, desktops, workstations and printers, with delivery timelines and rollout details. Our technical lab in Melzo, near Milan, is where we prepare every machine before delivery: company image, network configuration, domain join and a hardware check, so on-site testing takes as little time as possible.

After delivery we stay on as ongoing support, not just through the manufacturer's warranty: we manage driver and BIOS updates, replace faulty components and support workstations already in use, including ones not purchased through us. Our 25 years of hardware support experience and our ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certified processes apply here too: a support ticket follows the same tracked process as any other IT request we handle for your business.

Security, lifecycle and operational rental

Every HP machine we configure ships with antivirus active, BitLocker or disk encryption enabled where required, and update policies aligned with your company's rules. We track the lifecycle of the fleet to flag devices approaching end of support before they become a security risk or a productivity bottleneck. For managed printers the same approach applies to firmware and access credentials, an area often overlooked compared with PCs and servers.

For fleet refreshes we also offer HP operational rental, with a fixed fee, maintenance included and hardware replacement in case of failure, without the upfront cost of a direct purchase. It's a model we use often for notebooks and workstations replaced every three or four years, while for hardware meant to stay in service longer, buying remains the better option. We discuss this openly during the analysis phase, based on your company's real refresh cycle.

Frequently asked questions

Is it better to rent or buy HP hardware?

It depends on your company's refresh cycle. Operational rental avoids the upfront investment and includes maintenance and replacement in case of failure, while buying pays off for hardware meant to stay in service for many years. We work it out together during the analysis phase, based on the number of workstations and how often you refresh them.

How long does it take to set up a new HP PC fleet?

It depends on model availability and the number of workstations involved. We prepare every machine in our Melzo lab with your company image, domain join and a hardware check before delivery, so activation on-site just means connecting to the network. Partial fleet replacements take even less time.

Do you support HP PCs out of warranty or not bought through you?

Yes. We take on support for HP notebooks, desktops and workstations already in your business, whether in warranty or not, after an initial hardware check. You don't need to have purchased the fleet through TN Solutions to hand us ongoing maintenance.

What does managed printing with HP printers include?

Monitoring consumption, automatically replacing toner and consumables before they run out, and technical support if a printer fails. It's a useful model for offices with multiple printers or departments, where printing costs are often never actually tracked.

Is an HP Z workstation compatible with the CAD software we already use?

Z series workstations carry ISV certifications for the main CAD, modelling and rendering software. Before proposing a configuration we check the specific requirements of the software you use, so the graphics card, RAM and processor are sized around your real workload rather than a standard configuration.
