Server Backup in Milan: Operational Continuity for Your Business
Losing business data brings operations to a standstill and can cost far more than prevention ever would: servers that won't restart, email systems unreachable, management software offline for days. TN Solutions provides a server backup service in Milan and across Lombardy, designed for SMEs, professional firms, and multi-site businesses that cannot afford to discover a broken backup at the very moment they need it most.
The service covers physical, virtual, and clustered servers, across Windows Server and Linux environments, with copies stored in the cloud and on-site, encrypted and verified through periodic restore tests — not a backup configured once and then forgotten.

How Server Backup Works: the 3-2-1 Rule
Our configurations are built on Veeam and Acronis, following the 3-2-1 principle: at least three copies of your data, on two different media, with at least one copy stored off-site. In practice: local copies on corporate NAS or SAN, alongside replicas in cloud repositories.
Where the context requires it, we add an immutable copy — one that cannot be modified or deleted even in the event of a ransomware attack — and we apply deduplication to keep the storage footprint of incremental and differential backups under control. Policies cover both physical servers and virtual machines on VMware, Hyper-V, and Proxmox, with RPO and RTO defined together with the client and verified through periodic, documented restore tests: a backup that has never been tested is not a backup.
When a Structured Server Backup Becomes Essential
An improvised backup — an occasional manual copy with no verification — is often the real cause of a disaster when things actually go wrong. A structured server backup service becomes indispensable when:
- the business handles sensitive data or data subject to regulation (GDPR, document retention requirements, healthcare, or financial sectors);
- a hardware failure or human error would halt operations for more than a few hours;
- the infrastructure has already been targeted by ransomware, or is at risk of being so;
- data is spread across multiple sites and consistent, centralised replicas are required;
- there is currently no verified restore test in place: knowing that the backup job "completed successfully" is not enough — you need to know that the restore actually works.
What's Included in TN Solutions' Server Backup Service

- Analysis of the existing infrastructure and joint definition of RPO/RTO with the business.
- Configuration of incremental and differential backups on Veeam or Acronis, with encryption of data in transit and at rest.
- Local copies on NAS/SAN, alongside cloud replicas or replication to a secondary site.
- Immutable copy for environments with a higher ransomware risk profile.
- Periodic, documented restore tests — not merely job-completion checks.
- Direct technical support, with Next Business Day recovery for clients on an active support contract.

Server Backup Across the Region: Milan, Bergamo, Brescia, Monza
Our technical base is in Melzo, in the province of Milan, from which we also carry out on-site visits for surveys, configurations, and restores that require a physical presence. We support businesses across Lombardy — Bergamo, Brescia, Monza, and the surrounding municipalities — with remote assistance and scheduled on-site visits whenever work needs to be carried out at the client's premises.
Technologies Used for Server Backup

We configure backups on Veeam and Acronis, with repositories on local NAS/SAN and in the cloud, immutable copies, and deduplication. Policies apply to both physical servers and virtual machines on VMware, Hyper-V, and Proxmox: for environments running Proxmox, backup integrates natively with Proxmox Backup Server, which we also manage as a dedicated service through our data recovery centre.

FAQ
What is the difference between incremental and differential backup on a server?
Incremental backup copies only the data that has changed since the last backup of any type, reducing both time and storage space — but a full restore requires the entire chain of backup copies. Differential backup, by contrast, copies all changes since the last full backup: it uses more storage, but speeds up the restore process, because only the last full backup and the latest differential copy are needed.
What does Next Business Day recovery mean, and who is it available to?
It is a commitment to restore business services by the next working day following the report of a fault, and is available exclusively to clients on an active support contract. It includes technical intervention, verification of the integrity of saved data, and reactivation of the affected systems, in line with the agreed SLAs.
Does server backup protect against ransomware attacks?
Yes: our configurations include encryption of backups both in the cloud and on NAS, versioning of copies, and repositories isolated from the production network — so an attack that encrypts live data cannot spread to the backup copies. In the event of an incident, recovery is carried out from an earlier, uncompromised copy.
Do I need a dedicated server for backup, or can existing storage be used?
In most cases we make use of NAS or SAN already in place within the business, sizing local repositories alongside cloud or off-site replicas. Only for environments with very high data volumes or specific clustering requirements do we assess the introduction of additional dedicated storage.
Does the service cover virtualised servers as well as physical ones?
Yes, backup applies to both physical servers and virtual machines on VMware, Hyper-V, and Proxmox, as well as clusters. Backup policies are configured to align with the virtualisation infrastructure already in use, with no duplication of effort between the two environments.
How often is it verified that backups can actually be restored?
Restore testing is part of the service, not an optional extra: the frequency is agreed based on the criticality of the data, but the objective is the same for every client — to verify that the restore actually works, not merely that the backup job shows as completed.
