How quickly we take charge of your request
Just like in our VirtualAssistance support contract model, the response time is selectable based on how critical your systems are: the shorter it is, the higher the priority.
| Response SLA | Best suited for |
|---|---|
| 3 hours | Critical servers and services that cannot afford downtime |
| 8 hours | Workstations and services with a significant operational impact |
| 12 hours | Relevant requests that can be handled within the working day |
| 24 hours | Routine requests and activities that can be scheduled |
It's the same selectable SLA model used in our IT support contracts: we define it together based on your systems, with no hidden costs.
Not sure which SLA level is right for you? We analyse your infrastructure for free and help you choose the SLA that best fits your company, with no obligation.

Proxmox consulting and support: open-source virtualisation and business continuity
TN Solutions specialises in Proxmox consulting services for businesses that want to build robust, secure, scalable virtual infrastructure. Thanks to our systems engineering experience and in-depth knowledge of the Proxmox VE platform, we provide full support for configuring high-availability clusters, managing VMs, virtual networking, backup and disaster recovery policies.
Every project starts with a detailed technical analysis, followed by a tailored plan that covers optimal storage configuration, snapshots, VLANs and the full lifecycle management of your virtual machines. The service is part of our Data Recovery and Backup Centre.
Why has Proxmox become a genuine alternative to VMware for so many businesses in recent years? Thanks to its client-server architecture, the platform offers incremental backups, AES-256 encryption and advanced deduplication, significantly reducing disk space usage and the impact on network resources. All of this comes with an intuitive web interface and no prohibitive licensing costs: we cover it in detail in our guide on migrating from VMware to Proxmox.

Why choose Proxmox Backup with TN Solutions

- end-to-end checksum data integrity verification;
- accelerated workflows thanks to automation that removes manual steps.
Continuous innovation: a platform that keeps evolving
Don't get stuck with legacy architecture:
- constant updates to the Proxmox VE and PBS platform;
- integration with major cloud providers for off-site replicas;

Simplified setup: from zero to backup in a few steps
Implementing Proxmox Backup with us is quick and simple:
- turnkey installation and configuration of PBS and datastores;
- guided migration from other hypervisors or backup systems;
- detailed documentation delivered at the end of the project;
- hands-on training for your internal IT staff.

How we support you: Proxmox Backup and Disaster Recovery strategies
Efficient data backup and prompt recovery: with Proxmox Backup Server, TN Solutions designs incremental, deduplicated backup solutions, with Zstandard compression and AES-256 encryption, ideal for meeting strict security standards. Off-site replicas and RPO/RTO policies enable fast recovery in the event of failures, ransomware or human error.
PBS backs up and restores virtual machines, LXC containers and physical hosts with hard-to-match efficiency: block-level deduplication drastically reduces the space used, while scheduled backup verification guarantees every copy can genuinely be restored.
Proxmox support: dedicated SLAs and operational assistance
TN Solutions offers Proxmox support contracts including hour packages and custom SLA options. We work on both new installations and existing clusters, with remote support for technical issues, updates, performance tuning and automated backup management.
At the end of every engagement we provide detailed documentation and a continuous improvement plan, following the certified ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 27001 processes we apply to all our managed services.

A tailored service, from a small network to a multi-site cluster
Our service is designed for SMEs, professional firms, service companies, manufacturing businesses and multi-site networks — in Milan, Melzo and across Lombardy — that need stable, protected, high-performing IT infrastructure. Whether it's a network with 5 workstations or a cluster with blade or rack servers, we offer tailored solutions for every sector.
Do you also run VMware hosts? We design unified protection strategies alongside our VMware Virtual Machine Backup service, so mixed environments are covered under a single management approach.
Managing risk: deduplication and backup encryption

Efficiency and security without compromise: PBS manages block-level deduplication, significantly reducing storage space. The effect of encryption on backups is minimal if the same key is used across multiple jobs; if different keys are used instead, the encrypted chunks cannot be deduplicated against each other.
That's why we recommend using centralised, securely stored keys, preserving a high RPO without sacrificing backup compression. This is the kind of technical detail that separates an improvised installation from one designed to last.
Recommended architecture: Proxmox VE + PBS + off-site replication
The configuration we most often recommend to SMEs combines three layers of protection:
- Snapshots and high availability on the Proxmox VE cluster: for fast VM restarts if a node fails, with shared or ZFS-replicated storage.
- A local Proxmox Backup Server: a dedicated node (or a VM on separate hardware) with a ZFS datastore, daily or hourly incremental backups, scheduled verification and retention configured across days, weeks and months.
- Remote sync to a second PBS or the cloud: the remote sync feature replicates deduplicated backups to a secondary site or cloud datastore, completing the 3-2-1 strategy with an encrypted off-site copy.
This architecture protects against the three worst-case scenarios — node failure, backup storage failure, site disaster — while keeping storage costs surprisingly low thanks to deduplication.
Migrating from VMware to Proxmox with no production downtime
Many businesses move to Proxmox after price increases on proprietary platforms. We manage migration from VMware to Proxmox in a planned way: converting virtual disks, migrating in waves outside working hours, running functional tests application by application, and keeping a rollback ready until the new platform is validated. PBS backup is activated from day one, so the destination environment is already protected as soon as it goes live.

Frequently asked questions
How does Proxmox Backup Server work?
Proxmox Backup Server is the native solution for backing up VMs and containers on Proxmox VE. It offers compression, deduplication, encryption and fast recovery: the client only sends the changed blocks, reducing copy times and space used.
Can backups be encrypted with Proxmox Backup Server?
Yes. PBS supports client-side AES-256 encryption: data leaves the host already encrypted, and not even the backup server can read it without the key. We recommend centralised key management so as not to compromise deduplication.
Is Proxmox suitable for disaster recovery?
Absolutely. With Proxmox you can build disaster recovery solutions based on automatic backups, replication between nodes, snapshots and remote storage. In the event of a failure, recovery is fast and managed from a centralised, reliable platform.
How much space do backups need with PBS?
Much less than you'd think: thanks to block-level deduplication and Zstandard compression, long retention periods take up a fraction of the space required by traditional backups. During the analysis phase we size the datastore based on your real data volumes.
Do you support existing Proxmox installations?
Yes: we also work on clusters already in production, with audits, optimisation, updates and SLA-backed support contracts. You don't need to start from scratch to get professional support.
Can PBS also back up physical hosts and workstations?
Yes. Besides VMs and containers, the proxmox-backup-client lets you protect physical Linux hosts and arbitrary directories, using the same datastore deduplication and encryption. It's an efficient way to consolidate backups for your whole infrastructure on a single platform.
